Our mission is simple yet powerful — to enrich the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum and those who support them through education, resources, connection, and community‑building experiences.

Autism York: Programs That Change Lives

Family Events That Build Community:

From sensory‑friendly outings to seasonal celebrations that welcome everyone, our family events foster the sense of belonging that so many families seek. These experiences create friendships, reduce isolation, and give families space to simply enjoy being together. Connection builds community!

Support Groups That Offer Understanding:

No judgment. No stigma. Just connection. Our parent/caregiver support groups, Teen Meet-Up social events, and adult social gatherings offer safe spaces to learn, share, and grow. Participants gain encouragement, practical strategies, and a network of inclusive support.

Recreational & Social Opportunities for All Ages:

Through structured activities, social groups, and community partnerships, individuals on the spectrum build confidence, find new interests, and strengthen skills that support independence and well‑being.

Educational Workshops & Resources:

We equip families, educators, service providers, and community organizations with tools to create more inclusive environments. From understanding sensory needs to navigating transitions, our programs provide knowledge that helps others to better understand and engage with individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

Autism York is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, but it is the strength of our community that truly fuels our impact. Every program we offer and every life we touch is made possible through the collective support of local organizations, businesses, partners, and caring individuals who believe in a more inclusive future. We are inspired every day by what collaboration can achieve, and together, we are creating meaningful, lasting change for individuals and families across our region.

Autism York remains committed to our founding premise, ensuring that every program we offer remains free or low cost to individuals.
Because when a family is supporting a child or adult with autism, financial barriers should never stand in the way of community, resources, or joy.

Donations and financial support of Autism York directly funds:

• Program materials, Sensory Supports, and Resource Development
• Facility rentals for events and workshops
• Training and education initiatives for those that work with and support the autism community including educators, first responders, community partners, and service providers
• Community partnerships that expand opportunities
