For over 70 years, BYC Raiders has been a cornerstone of opportunity for youth in York City. More than just a sports program, we provide structure, mentorship, and a safe haven where York City children develop confidence, discipline, and lifelong friendships.

Our Mission

BYC Raiders delivers accessible, quality youth sports programs that build character, promote health, and create pathways to success for children throughout York City. We believe that every child, regardless of their family's financial situation, deserves the chance to experience the transformative power of team sports.

The Need: Critical Safety Equipment

This Give Local York, we're raising $7,000 for essential safety equipment upgrades:

• Football helmet refurbishment with concussion-preventing caps - Most of our current football helmets must be refurbished this year in order to meet league standards. We also want to modernize with new technology that could reduce impact forces by up to 33%
• Updated protective gear such as mouth guards that properly fit our growing athletes
• Replacement of well-used equipment that will help young athletes better prepare for the game such as practicing with a tackling and blocking sled
• Support for operational costs including referee fees and field rentals

Providing proper and safe sports equipment is essential for growing youth. With community support for this Give Local York, we can continue to offer a safe and fun athletic experience a reality in York City.

When a child joins our program, they deserve more than just a chance to play—they deserve to play safely. Modern equipment doesn't just prevent injuries; it gives kids the confidence to fully participate. 

Plus, equipment upgrades helps youth feel invested in and cared about -- it makes them feel important. (Current BYC 4-man sled that needs replaced pictured to the right.)
