The First Cap Gives Back Foundation is the charitable arm of First Capital Federal Credit Union, our mission is rooted in one simple but powerful idea: people helping people. Our inaugural year saw our mission come to life through impactful partnerships, heartfelt giving, and meaningful community engagement.
We kicked off 2025 by proudly supporting organizations doing life-changing work. We were proud to sponsor LifePath Ministries during our 1st Quarter and highlighted H.O.P.E. (Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support) as our 2nd Quarter FirstCap Gives Back Community Partner. These collaborations combine financial support with hands-on involvement, reflecting our commitment to uplifting those who serve others.
In our 3rd Quarter, we were honored to partner with York Literacy Institute, empowering adults in our community through literacy education that builds confidence, supports workforce development, and strengthens families.
As we closed out the year, our 4th Quarter partnership supported United Way of York County and their A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) mission—helping hard-working individuals and families who struggle to afford basic needs like housing, childcare, transportation, and health care. Together, we’re advancing opportunities for financial stability and brighter futures in York County.
In the spirit of the holidays, we also partnered with the York County Food Bank through a food drive, volunteer day, and financial support to help fight hunger in our community. Additionally, we collected hats and mittens through a Giving Tree initiative to support local schools and Friends & Neighbors, helping keep our neighbors warm during the winter months.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this momentum in 2026! We kicked off the year by partnering with Susquehanna Service Dogs (1st Quarter), an organization dedicated to providing assistance and hearing dogs to children and adults with disabilities, helping individuals gain independence through well-trained service dog partnerships while fostering an inclusive environment where all people can grow, make choices, and contribute as valued members of society.
In the second quarter, we are honored to support the work of The Arc of York County (2nd Quarter), whose mission ensures individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the opportunity to choose where and how they learn, live, work, and play, while advocating for equal access, empowering families, and promoting full community inclusion. During the third quarter, we will proudly stand alongside Building Bridges for Brianna (3rd Quarter), an organization committed to bridging the gap from despair to hope through suicide awareness, prevention efforts, and mental health education, while offering compassionate support to individuals and families impacted by suicidal ideation and mental health challenges. As we close out the year, we are honored to partner with Children’s Aid Society of York (4th Quarter), whose mission is to empower children and families to build stronger, healthier lives through equitable, culturally responsive services that prioritize safety, preserve family connections, and center children’s voices and well-being.
Together, these partnerships embody the mission of the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation: people helping people—and reflect our ongoing commitment to strengthening our community through compassion, collaboration, and care.
As the charitable arm of First Capital Federal Credit Union, our mission is rooted in one simple but powerful idea: people helping people.
