Hanover Symphony Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

$31,586 raised by 83 donors

Founded in 1995, the Hanover Symphony Orchestra (HSO) is Hanover’s only non-profit, volunteer orchestra. The HSO serves our community by giving talented musicians the opportunity to make music together, providing entertainment at three concerts every season, supporting community initiatives through additional benefit concerts, educating students through our HSO Kids! program, and awarding college scholarships to high school musicians who make music with us.

Throughout its history, the HSO has demonstrated a strong commitment to the community through benefit concerts. Organizations that have benefited from these concerts include the Greater Hanover Area Red Cross, Hanover Area Council of Churches, Hanover Area Literacy Council, Hanover Public Library, and the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center.

The HSO is proud to award scholarships annually to high school students who perform with us. The Walter F. Janusz Memorial Scholarship Program has benefited nearly 50 students since its inception in 1996.

The HSO depends on donations from our community to continue achieving and expanding our impact. While nearly 60 musicians in our community volunteer their time and talents, annual expenses include rehearsal space rent, sheet music, instruments, stipends to guest performers, and scholarships to our talented high school students.

Thank you for supporting the Hanover Symphony Orchestra! We truly make Hanover a better community one concert at a time.
