Hoffman Homes

is a non-profit organization providing both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health and mental health treatment, as well as educational services, to those in need. Our behavioral and mental health programs include a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), Therapeutic Shelter, Transitional Living Program, and an Outpatient Therapy program. In addition, our school, Hoffman Academy, provides emotional support and regular education to individuals in preschool through grade 12.

On an average day, there are approximately 75 youth and young adults in our residential programs, supported by 24/7 residential and medical services staff, as well as teachers, therapists, doctors, and administrators. Currently, we are also serving approximately 51 clients through our outpatient therapy program, including 32 individuals from York Co. Together, these programs help individuals build hope, develop skills, and work toward a brighter future for themselves, their families, and the community.

York County residents make up a significant portion of the individuals served at Hoffman Homes. Approximately 46% of the individuals receiving care through our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), Therapeutic Shelter, and Transitional Living Program (TLP) are from York County. This reflects the important role Hoffman Homes plays in supporting the behavioral and mental health needs of youth and young adults within our local community.

Hoffman Academy, our onsite private academic school for preschool through grade 12, is another growing resource for York County students. Approximately 41% of the individuals enrolled as Day Students at Hoffman Academy are from York County. Through small class sizes, low student-to-teacher ratios, and a personalized trauma-informed approach, the school provides both regular education and special education (emotional support) to help individuals succeed academically and emotionally. Transportation to and from Hoffman Homes is provided by school districts, allowing students from surrounding communities to access these important educational supports.

Family Intensive Residences, Hoffman Homes has created two Family Intensive Programs for females within our PRTF program: Trinity Residence and Zion Residence. These residences are designed to strengthen family engagement while helping individuals practice important life and coping skills within their home environment.

Trinity Residence serves individuals from Adams and York counties who live within approximately one hour of Hoffman Homes.

Zion Residence serves individuals from Franklin, Fulton, Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, Lancaster, and Lebanon counties who live within approximately 90 minutes of campus.

These residences provide a more intimate treatment setting, allowing therapists to work with smaller caseloads and offer more focused, personalized care. Therapists conduct in-home family sessions twice each month, helping families strengthen relationships and practice skills together in a familiar environment. In addition, transportation staff assist by providing transportation for in-home sessions and weekly therapeutic leaves to designated drop-off locations.

Currently, nine individuals are participating in the Trinity program, and the program has received very positive feedback from both guardians and county agencies.

The goal of these Family Intensive programs is to increase family engagement and provide more frequent opportunities for individuals and their families to build and practice skills together at home—helping strengthen connections and support long-term success.

Fostering hope and building a brighter future for every youth and young adult on campus is how success is measured at Hoffman Homes. Your support fuels this important work. Thank you. 💙
