Libraries are safe spaces.

Libraries are about opportunity and transformation.  We seek to feed curiosity and share pathways to knowledge by promoting literacy and life-long learning. Your gift helps us to provide those opportunities.

Martin Library opens our doors to everyone in our community, from infants and their families, school children, teens, and to adults of every age. Our collections and resources are shared with all York County Libraries. The library offers services and programs that are engaging and thought-provoking to better meet the needs of our library members and users. We believe you can enjoy yourself while learning and growing.

Our staff seeks to respect the many ideas and opinions represented in our community.

Mission

York County Libraries’ mission and vision is to strengthen the York County community and to enrich individual lives.

Thanks to your support, our library can open its doors to thousands of visitors every year.

Your support ensures that our library provides a safe gathering place for people of all ages to learn and access the resources they need. Our library is more than just books. It’s modeling how to engage children and prepare them for success in school, it’s teens having fun while preparing for their future, it’s social development in young learners, and it’s having access to free resources.

Located at the corner of Market and Queen Streets this city landmark has three levels of collection, program and gathering spaces. Here you can find the largest collection of books in York County, research expertise, and over 35 computers for our members to connect to the internet, apply for jobs, and connect with friends and family.
