Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center

A nonprofit organization

$6,500 raised by 40 donors

Every day in our community, immigrants are forced to navigate one of the most complex legal systems in the country - alone. When someone cannot afford a lawyer in immigration court, the consequences are devastating: detention without answers, separation from their children, the threat of deportation back to danger, and the loss of everything they’ve built.

That is where PIRC steps in. For more than 30 years, born out of grassroots action and community solidarity, PIRC has provided free, high-quality legal services so immigrants can find safety, stay with their families, and pursue a life of safety and opportunity.

Never before has the need been so great. The number of immigrants in our community facing detention, deportation, and loss of status is rising. Without legal representation, their chances of staying safe drop dramatically.

With support, that changes. With support, York Families don’t have to face this alone.

Your support does more than fund legal services—it protects lives, keeps families together, and defends futures. Behind every case is a person: a parent, a child, a survivor, a neighbor—someone whose life changes because someone chose to step in.

When you give to PIRC during Give Local York, you:

  • Keep families together.
  • Stand with survivors fighting for safety.
  • Provide a lifeline to detained immigrants.
  • Defend the rights and dignity of your immigrant neighbors.

This is what it means to show up for York.
This is how we defend our community.
This is how justice takes shape, right here, right now.

ABOUT: PIRC is a nonprofit made up of a team of committed and passionate advocates serving immigrants in York and surrounding counties who are:

  • Fighting to stabilize their immigration status so they can remain with their families, find work, and move toward a secure future.
  • Facing deportation, where every hearing could determine whether they stay with their children or are forced to leave the U.S.
  • Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking who need legal protection to escape abuse and rebuild safely.
  • Detained by ICE, cut off from their loved ones, and in urgent need of answers, advocacy, and hope.
