Play Catch With A Dad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose volunteer dads attend Pride festivals across the country to provide affirming, fatherly support to LGBTQ+ adults who have lost — or never had — that kind of presence in their lives.
Through a simple game of catch, a hug, and words of encouragement, we create powerful moments of connection. These interactions are often deeply emotional and can be profoundly healing, offering participants a rare experience of unconditional paternal support.
We were formed and are still proudly located in York, PA.
Mission
Play Catch With A Dad is dedicated to creating moments of healing, connection, and unconditional support for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals who have lost, lacked, or never experienced affirming paternal relationships. Through simple, symbolic acts — like playing catch, sharing a hug, and offering a listening ear — we provide a visible, public expression of acceptance, love, and belonging. Our mission is to remind every person we meet that they are seen, valued, and worthy of the support every child deserves, regardless of age, identity, or past experience.
