Rainbow Rose Center exists because LGBTQIA+ youth and adults in York and Adams counties deserve a place where they can walk in and know — without question — that they belong. A place to find support, connect with resources they can trust, and be surrounded by people who see them for exactly who they are.

For 2026, we're focusing on growing and expanding our support programs and groups to serve local LGBTQIA+ Youth & Families.  $15,000 of funds raised during Give Local York will directly support our programs and those who take advantage of them.  In today's climate, these programs are more important than ever and we are counting on you to help strengthen this mission.

Every program we offer is free. Every person who reaches out is met with care. And none of it happens without the people who fund this work.

We call our everyday supporters Rainbow Makers.

Why This Matters Right Now  🏳️‍🌈

The world is telling LGBTQIA+ youth and adults — in policy, in rhetoric, and in daily life — that they should take up less space. That they should be quieter, less visible, less themselves. That message is louder right now than it has been in a long time, and it is reaching the young people in our community first.

Rainbow Rose Center exists to counter that message with action. We are a place where LGBTQIA+ people in York and Adams counties can take up all the space they need. A place to exhale. A place to ask hard questions, find trustworthy help, and be proud of who they are.

We built it here, for here. And we keep it free so that cost is never a barrier to belonging.

How Your Donation Helps

Everything we do is FREE to our community. That is only possible because of people like you. 

Here is what your generosity makes happen all year long:

Support Groups — Peer-to-peer connection in a safe environment, offered in hybrid in-person and virtual formats, so no one has to navigate their journey alone. Groups include our Silver Triangle, a social group for LGBTQ+ seniors (50+),two teen groups that offer an outing each month and a family group for all ages.

Resource Connection — We make direct connections between our community members to fully vetted and trusted medical providers, therapists, lawyers, shelters, and safe spaces we have personally vetted for their understanding of and respect for LGBTQIA+ lives.

Gender-Affirming Closet — Free access to transition-related items including prosthetics, shapewear, wigs, and shoes, so people can show up in the world as themselves.

Lending Library — Affirming and educational books available to borrow, because seeing yourself reflected in a story changes everything.

Diversity Training and Education — We help organizations, schools, and businesses become safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth and adults.

Annual Pride Celebration -- Our hallmark event each year that we continue to keep FREE for all who want to attend and a celebration that drew 2,500 people from across Central PA in 2025.
