The Rainbow Rose Center fosters an environment of inclusion, equity, and health where all LGBTQIA+ community members thrive in York and Adams Counties, Pennsylvania. We envision an inclusive community where all York and Adams County individuals feel safe and welcome in their everyday lives.

We offer a wide range of programs and services to meet the needs of York County's LGBTQIA+ community. We help them and their families by providing programs, information, and resources to assist in their journey. We also help by raising awareness through advocacy, public outreach, events, and media.

For 2025, we're focusing on growing and expanding our support programs and groups to serve the local LGBTQIA+ Community.  $15,000 of funds raised during Give Local York, 2025 will directly support our programs and those who take advantage of them.  In today's climate, these programs are more important than ever and we are counting on you to help strengthen this mission.


Support Groups

Our support groups offer peer-to-peer support in a safe environment. Most support groups are offered in hybrid in-person and virtual formats.

Resource Connection

We refer our community only to medical doctors, mental health therapists, shelters, landlords, lawyers, or safe spaces we have vetted to ensure their understanding of and respect for LGBTQIA+ issues and needs.

Gender-Affirming Closet

Our gender affirming closet provides the public with free transition-related items, such as prosthetics, shape wear, wigs, and shoes.

Lending Library

Our office has a number of affirming and educational books to borrow.

Name Change Assistance

We help walk you through the legal name change application process. We also support you by accompanying you to your hearing. Quarterly workshops and one-on-one assistance available.

Any funds raised above the $15,000 goal will help support the other Rainbow Rose Center services and programs.
