Red Lion is experiencing significant revitalization, with new restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, retail stores and luxury apartments popping up just in the last few years. Red Lion ROARS is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2020 to support this economic development and encourage a comprehensive increase in arts, culture, recreation and community services to match!
Our staple projects that we currently provide funding for include brand new murals throughout town, the second annual Rockin' Red Lion Day of Service (Saturday, May 16: Sign up to volunteer here!), and a new History Walking Tour to debut soon!
Expanding our mural arts program: The mural at the square was just the beginning of what we hope to be a thriving mural arts culture in Red Lion! We've added several more murals in Artemis Courtyard and along Railroad Ave. We've also collaborated with Red Lion Junior and Senior High Schools to add window mural to several Red Lion businesses along Main St and W Broadway. We connect building owners to local mural artists to beautify our town even more.
Sponsoring community events: We are always looking to support existing events or initiatives and create new ones to serve our community and encourage more people to come to Red Lion! Some of the events we have sponsored in the past include Red Lion Recreation activities and programs, local theatre programs, Community REACH fundraisers and Red Lion Area School District recreational and educational activities.
Enhancing community services: We have partnered with several other local nonprofits and organizations to support and expand the important work they are doing in our community. Last December, we hosted our first Community Coalition event that brought together nearly 20 local organizations from the Red Lion area—who address important issues like food insecurity, promoting literacy, aiding addiction recovery, mental health, and suicide prevention—to break down silos and begin to work together to build a brighter future for Red Lion that we can all be proud of.
Red Lion Roars is an established 501(c)3 non profit to benefit Red Lion and its surrounding communities by developing and expanding opportunities for recreation, arts, music, special events and cultural experiences for all.
Red Lion ROARS aims to make the Red Lion and surrounding communities a great place for all to live, learn, work and play through fundraising/support for special events, projects and initiatives related to:
• Enhancing Child & Family Development Opportunities
• Expanding Artist and Musician Support
• Increasing Economic Development
• Increasing Small Business Support
• Increasing Travel and Tourism
• Creating awareness and supporting local services
