We are a mostly volunteer fire department with some paid drivers. Our fire department is a combination of 3 merged departments consisting of Dallastown, Yoe, and Yorkana Fire Departments, with another department in the process of being merged. Our funds come mostly from donations and fundraising efforts by our volunteers.
The mission of the Southern Area Fire and Emergency Rescue is to
provide superior service to the people in the municipalities our department
serves to protect lives, property, and the environment while blazing the path as
the leader in regionalization and collaboration of municipal volunteer fire
departments
