York County Veterans Outreach

In 2024, The York County Veterans Outreach (The YCVO) disbursed $99,000 in grants to local Veterans Service Organizations, supporting York County’s 28,000 Veterans and their families. The YCVO raises funds year-round to provide grants for food insecurity, mortgage and utility assistance, as well as health, wellness, and PTSD treatments. Our fundraising supports our Hometown Heroes in gratitude for their service.

Supported organizations in 2024 included Catfish for Heroes, For the Love of a Veteran, Leg Up Farm, LifePath Christian Ministries, Pennsylvania Furniture Mission, Prodigy Spectrum, the Veterans Fund (disbursed by York County Veterans Affairs), Veterans Lake Fishing, and the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden. The YCVO is proud to partner with these organizations in York County.

In addition to private donations, The YCVO hosts two major annual fundraisers: the 8th Annual Benefit Custom Car and Bike Show on May 24th and the 8th Annual York County Veterans Outreach Golf Invitational on September 17th. The YCVO is also honored to be the Nonprofit Season Partner of the York Revolution for a second year. This partnership has expanded our outreach, fundraising, and provided a platform to honor Veterans at WellSpan Park throughout the summer. Volunteers and sponsors are encouraged to join in supporting York County Veterans at these events.

The YCVO, founded in 2013 by Susan P. Byrnes, R.N., and Col. Judge Craig T. Trebilcock, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over its first decade. In 2023, the organization welcomed its first part-time Administrator to assist in supporting the increased outreach of the YCVO in our Veteran community.
