$3,000 Goal

With over 25,000 veterans who call York County home, not all are able to access services and resources for their immediate needs due to the red tape of bureaucracy. With that, retired President Commissioner Susan P. Byrnes, R.N., and the Honorable Judge Craig T. Trebilcock, retired US Army Reserves, pulled together a board of directors of the leaders of York County's non-profit sector and founded York County Veterans Outreach (also known as YCVO) in 2013. Their mission is to assist York County Veterans and their families in identifying and accessing resources, services and programs to meet their short and long-term goals.

Each year, YCVO hosts two major fundraisers: the Annual Benefit Car, Truck and Bike Show and the Annual Golf Tournament. Proceeds raised during these two events go to The Veterans Fund, a private fund of monies utilized by York County's Veterans Affairs to support our Hometown Heroes for the immediate needs of mortgage, utility, food insecurity and much more.

YCVO also partners with York County Veterans Service organizations that provide other resources, services and programs for veterans. In 2025, YCVO disbursed $136,500 in grants to organizations such as Glenn Hope Care Farm for their ongoing efforts in Agricultural Education, For the Love of a Veteran for PTSD treatments, shelter at LifePath Ministries, home repairs through Servants, alternative methods of therapy through Catfish for Heroes and Veterans Lake Fishing, and financial support from The Veterans Fund (disbursed by York County Veterans Affairs).

Please join us in our efforts in continuing our mission to support our Hometown Heroes. We may not know them all, but we owe them all.
