We've relied on our family of members and donors to nurture these historic theatres and support the world-class performances and educational programs we provide.

Mission

The Appell Center for the Performing Arts (ACPA), formerly the Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center, serves York County and south-central PA with a full-slate of performing arts programs and educational offerings. The facility houses two historic theaters - the 1,262 seat Strand Theatre (1925) and the 450 seat Capitol Theatre (1906).

ACPA hosts more than 200 events annually, including Broadway, comedy, theater, dance, concerts, and films. The organization offers performing arts education experiences that include a literacy and theater program (Stage the Page) to 10,000 K-2nd grade students across the county.
