Art of Recycle

The Little Art Bank is a program of Art of Recycle, a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. Art of Recycle’s Hanover location was started in collaboration with Sara (Sam) Little in October 2019. The LAB is a community art center in Hanover that serves people of all ages and abilities.

With your help, we are already changing lives within our community. We have made great progress with achieving some of our founding goals. Here are a few of the things we already have been up to:

• We enable diverse populations to develop their creative talents.
• We provide teachers and students with free or very low cost supplies.
• We develop collaborative relationships with other nonprofit organizations to enrich their client’s lives by enabling them to explore art and learn essential life skills.
• We provide high quality affordable arts programming for children and adults of all ages. 

Moving into our next phase we have some new goals we’d like to tackle (on top of continuing our classes and programs). We’d like to:

• Continue our Touch a Heart campaign.  Through this program anyone may create cards of encouragement, either at the LAB or at home, with uplifting sentiments. They will be distributed to local participating organizations.
• Open up our free crafting area where kids can use equipment and supplies to create sculptures, origami,  cards, finger puppets and more. 
• Hire more staff from our local community and grow our volunteer program.
• Continue our campaign to collect teaching materials and make them available for teachers, non-profits and Homeschool groups.
• Continue to engage our community by offering free crafting kits created by youth and senior based organizations and schools.

 

We operate on a very limited budget with all donated materials and equipment, two very part-time staff and thousands of hours of volunteer time. One of our goals is to hire disadvantaged youth, adults and seniors in the Hanover area.
