Safe Families for Children (SFFC), a ministry offered by Bethany Christian Services, helps parents experiencing temporary crisis by providing a Christian family for their children to stay with until the crisis has passed. When a crisis strikes, many people rely on relatives and friends for support, but what if you have no safety net? A problem such as homelessness, loss of employment, drug rehabilitation, sudden illness/injury or in need of of medical care, can hit suddenly and be debilitating. The everyday challenges of parenting can be overwhelming when you are in the midst of a crisis. SFFC will help arrange for your children to stay with a christian host family while you address the issues that led to your situation. SFFC is available to families with children from birth to 17 years old. Parents will maintain full custody of their children and are placed with families who have been extensively screened and trained. Average length of stay is 45 days but can adjust according to your needs. Safe Families for Children is committed to reuniting your family as soon as possible. It is not foster care or adoption but we are a foster care prevention ministry.

In response to COVID-19 SFFC is excited to announce a new partnership with a Central PA camp and retreat center to provide temporary transitional housing to families this summer. This would give us the opportunity to expand beyond hostings & serve a greater number of families during this time. We can't do it without your help, funding for this program is desperately needed.
