Catholic Harvest Food Pantry

Catholic Harvest Food Pantry (CHFP) helps those who are food insecure by providing families with supplemental food. CHFP is the only food pantry in York to hold a food distribution every weekday evening or late afternoon, along with additional morning distributions to try and accommodate all schedules. CHFP's Mobile Pantry also travels monthly to a central location in parts of York County to serve those with food insecurity who live without a nearby food pantry.  With the number of those in need of food the highest ever in Pantry history, now 1,100 households receive monthly supplemental food distributions from Catholic Harvest Food Pantry.  CHFP operates with a staff of five and more than 350 dedicated volunteers who share in doing the important work of the Pantry.  As a choice food pantry, CHFP provides non-perishable foods, meat/protein, dairy, fresh produce, pet food, personal hygiene and household cleaning products.  Our food list is updated daily so each household gets to select and receive what they choose from the day's available inventory, eliminating distributing food that will go to waste.

CHFP also powers YorkGiving, the annual community-wide Thanksgiving distribution that supplies a turkey and all the sides to registered households.  This past November, 1,706 households received what they needed to be able to prepare and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at home.
