When their daughter, Jessica, was born with special needs in 1981, Peter and Paulette Teague found themselves on a journey they could have never imagined. Through the challenges of caring for Jessica over many years, God placed a dream in their hearts to start faith-based supports and services for not only Jessica, but also her friends.
In 1998 their dream was realized and Jessica & Friends Community was birthed. Over twenty-seven years later, they look back and remember with thanksgiving God’s provisions. He took their dream, and made something beautiful for the families and individuals in our community…
• Beginning by faith with a small band of parents to pray, support and encourage each other, Jessica & Friends Community (J&FC) is now reaching out to over 300 parents in our PACS (PARENT AND CAREGIVER SUPPORT) Group.
• Beginning by faith with one employee, J&FC now exceeds 150 committed staff, who carry out the vision and mission of Jessica & Friends Community.
• Beginning by faith with one home serving three beautiful ladies, J&FC now serves 24 individuals in seven RESIDENTIAL HOMES, where life skills and independence are learned.
• Beginning by faith with respite care for one family, J&FC now serves over 40 families through COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES.
• Beginning by faith with six friends entering our Pathway Day Program, J&FC now serves 80 individuals in two DAY PROGRAMS, located in York and Hanover.
We are grateful to the York County community for your partnership and generous support over the years to help make this dream a reality.
