Valley Youth House

A nonprofit organization

Valley Youth House is the catalyst for youth to achieve their desired future through genuine relationships that support families, ensure safe places, and build community connections.  We envision a world in which every young person belongs to a nurturing community. We are the sole organization in York with the mission to help homeless youth find housing and provide one-on-one mentorship to foster and non-foster youth.

VYH Programs Offered in York County:

  • Adolescents Achieving Independence (AAI): One-on-one mentorship with foster non-foster youth ages 14-23, teaching adult life skills
  • Rapid Re-Housing (RRH): Homeless youth ages 18-24 are provided transitional housing and a case manager to learn life skills and attain residence
  • School-Based Life Skills (SBLS): After school classes that give students the chance to learn adult skills and create goals for the rest of their lives

Critical funds raised during Give Local York will help provide stable housing and the critical life skills to young people in York county that are homeless or experiencing housing instability after exiting the foster care system.
