$26,000 Goal

York Fresh Food Farms is on a mission to make sure everyone in our

community has healthy food to eat. We grow vegetables and fruit right here on our farm in the City of York and sell it at low prices, year-round, targeting families living in poverty and in food desert neighborhoods.

Founded in 2015, York Fresh Food Farms' mission is to cultivate community health through agriculture, access and affordability. Vegetables and fruit are sustainably grown on York's only urban farm, traveling nearly zero food miles to reach our neighbors.  Produce from York Fresh Food Farms is available at affordable prices 52 weeks a year through our Mobile Produce Markets--visiting 17 locations around York City in summer 2026--and through FarmShares, a weekly selection of fresh produce when you want it, ordered online for pick-up or delivery.

York Fresh Food Farms accepts SNAP/EBT, Food Bucks coupons, Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks (June – November) as well as cash/credit/debit. We encourage customers to use SNAP, food assistance checks and vouchers.  Customers paying with SNAP receive a $2 Food Buck coupon with every $2 spent with their SNAP/EBT card (up to $10 in Food Bucks)--doubling their purchasing power.

In 2025 York Fresh Food Farms opened at Central Market, offering a year-round farmstand Tuesdays and Saturdays, right in the heart of York City.

We've set our sights high as we begin our second decade of farming.  In 2026 we're aiming to harvest 26,000 pounds of produce, increase mobile market transactions by 26%, and double our adult and youth education about where food comes from and how to use fresh produce.  With your help, we hope to raise $26,000 through Give Local York.   Please consider a donation so we can continue to reach more underserved, low-income and food insecure families in the City of York.

York Fresh Food Farms--growing fresh food in the York City, for our York City neighbors, so that everyone can afford to eat well.

York Fresh Food Farms is also proud to sponsor the four Community Gardens, award-winning, visionary educational green space curated by Annalisa Gojmerac. The Community Gardens create opportunities for local York City youth, students, families, residents and volunteers to learn about the spectacular wonders of Mother Nature, as we grow food during spring, summer and fall. Each formerly neglected urban space is now a beautiful and vibrant, plant-filled teaching space, for all ages, designed for both nature and humans to co-exist in a shared space, learning and growing and thriving. What we create together on ruins of the past, creates a positive and resilient future for all.
