Our mission is to preserve, protect and promote the historical story of the Hanover area. We sponsor many free community events such as:

  • Martin-Leese Lectures
  • Summer Lawn Concerts at the Warehime-Myers Mansion
  • Children's Easter Egg Hunt     

In addition to the community events and lectures, we offer tours to schools and community groups, a travel program to historic destinations and serve as the repository of objects, photos and documents related to Hanover's history.  To learn more about the programs we offer the public and how you can volunteer to help, visit our website at www.hanoverpahistory.org

Our locations:  1911-1913 Warehime-Myers Mansion, the 1783 Neas House, the Hanover Area History Museum and the Yelland Research Library & Archives located in the Guthrie Memorial Library.

Mission

The Hanover Area Historical Society’s mission is to protect and promote the historical heritage of the greater Hanover area. The Society will selectively acquire, preserve, and provide access to historical buildings and sites and to artifacts and archives that have unique historical significance for this area. The Society will undertake related programs and activities for the educational, recreational, and cultural benefit of the people of the greater Hanover area.

Our Purpose: The Society exists to foster interest in the historical heritage of the greater Hanover Area.
