The Dillsburg Area Public Library serves over 22,000 residents of northern York County with high-quality services that meet the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of our community. Since 1953, we have served our friends and neighbors with access to critical and relevant materials, technology, and expertise to assist them in keeping pace with the rapidly evolving world around them. We build and strengthen connections with like-minded civic groups to create a better northern York County community. Through York County Libraries, we offer an ever expanding array of services beyond our own walls.
The Dillsburg Area Public Library self-generates over 50% of our annual operating revenue through events like Give Local York. As costs of rise, our ability to delivery those services becomes more and more stretch. Mission
The Dillsburg Area Public Library (DAPL) exists to provide free access to informational, recreational, research, and life-long educational resources for people of all ages, ethnicities/races, religions, national origins, genders/orientations, abilities, and interests, who reside within its Northern York County service area. Along with a strong commitment to meeting public needs through the provision of the best possible library services able to be supported by the community, the Dillsburg Area Public Library seeks to promote literacy, encourage pre-school reading, support programs within the schools and respond to cultural needs through its programs and services.
