York City Events are vital to the quality of life, sense of community, and the development of civic pride in York City.
Box Lunch Revue: With 37 performance days in Cherry Lane Park, Box Lunch Revue offers the perfect opportunity for emerging and established artists in our community. By empowering local hosts, Box Lunch Revue is built BY musicians, FOR musicians by elevating and supporting THEIR passion for music in our city. Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30-1:30 from May through August. Continuing this year - the return of the school bands!
Yorkfest: Returning this year, Yorkfest is set for Saturday, Aug. 24, and will include art markets in districts throughout Downtown York, the Chalk Walk in the Square and will kick off York Arts Week. It will include vendors, entertainment, live art, and a new International Food Festival.
Light Up York: A chance to come together, regardless of faith, and
celebrate making our city just a little bit brighter by lighting a chonker of a
tree in Continental Square. Light Up York is a family-focused affair with snow
machines, live reindeer, visits from Mr. and Mrs, Claus, an avalanche of
holiday inflatables, and plenty of photo opportunities. You may even see a
runaway Grinch or Belsnickel as we push the footprint out from Continental
Square. Light Up York will be held on Friday, Dec. 6!
New Year's Eve: An absolute blast of music and light centered in Continental
Square to celebrate the changing of the year. An adult-focused but family-friendly affair with more confetti, more music, more lights, and more confetti!
With events earlier in the day like Noon Year’s Eve by Keystone Kidspace,
there’s a little something for everyone.
York City Special Events is now being produced by Working Progress, the minds behind some of your favorite York events like Restaurant Week, What the Food Trucks, Yorktoberfest, Taste of PA Wine festival, and more.
York City Special Events are now being produced by The Parliament Arts Organization including Mother's Day Street Fair, Box Lunch Revue, Yorkfest, Light Up York, and New Year's Eve!
In 2010, the tenants of 116 East King Street had the idea to turn their townhouse into a community art space. In just one year, The Parliament Arts Organization’s art shows began to draw the masses, filling the block with excitement and energy. The Parliament Arts Organization quickly became York’s advocate for talented, yet overlooked, creative professionals. Energy had filled the block, and vacant offices and storefronts on the 100 block of E. King Street rapidly transformed into artists’ studios, galleries and boutiques. The Parliament continues producing successful programs and events in The Royal Square District.
