Quality early childhood education and enrichment programs are essential for a child’s development, yet many families struggle to afford these opportunities. Our early childhood education and child care programs serve children from six weeks to five years old, providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Additionally, we offer before- and after- school care and summer camp programs, ensuring that children continue to learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment.
However, child care tuition, in addition to the rising cost of basic household needs, is often a barrier for families in need. Approximately 30% of the children enrolled in our programs rely on financial assistance to participate. Without additional funding, many children may miss out on the critical early learning experiences and enrichment activities that set the stage for future success.
Give Local York funds will directly support scholarships for children and families who need them most, ensuring that every child—regardless of financial circumstances—has access to the education, care, and support they deserve. Your generosity will help bridge the financial gap, making it possible for more families to benefit from our high-quality programming.

Mission
As York County residents have done for the past three years, on May 7th, 2021, we will once again pool our resources for Give Local York. This important day is dedicated to strengthening our shared community. And, to make this day’s impact possible, we need your help.
This year has created challenges for all of us. We have witnessed and experienced the changes brought on by COVID-19. But, through participating in Give Local York, we have a chance to affect positive change, be the vehicle of change, and strengthen our community.
We are ready to emerge from this pandemic stronger having learned and grown through the adversity we have faced together. And the York JCC – with your generosity – will be a leader in this community strengthening effort, ensuring York County is warm and welcoming to EVERYONE.
