Believe it or not, I'm at the end of my time on the LSRA Board of Directors after two 3-year terms. These past years have been among my most meaningful, and I truly appreciate any of you who have supported our Riverkeeper on my behalf. Thank you for being here to support of the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association, and likely not for the first time.

For me it all started with a growing love for the Susquehanna as it taught me new ways to ponder the meaning of being interconnected. This video is a way that I've considered those connections.

As I finish my second term, I am so glad to know that we have a tremendous Board of Directors of amazing individuals who represent a variety of expertise, talents, passions, and perspectives. We are working as a team towards our vision to ensure drinkable, fishable, swimmable water on the Lower Susquehanna River and raise community awareness for current and future generations on the ecological and economic value of the Lower Susquehanna Watershed.

I sincerely appreciate you being here with us and our Riverkeeper. I could not be prouder to serve this cause.

FACTS AND FIGURES

  • Over 1.7M folks depend on the Lower Susquehanna River for their clean drinking water. Our work is vital to health of our communities.
  • Over 230 tons of trash, plastics and debris has been removed through clean up events we organize.
  • Secured a $341M settlement attached to the relicensing of the Conowingo Dam which puts environmental restoration and protection projects in place for the river (and bay) for the next 50 years.
  • Our education program reached 1500 students this year, connecting kids directly with their natural resources, fostering future stewards of the river.
  • Last year we tested over 400 samples from 20 popular public water access points in the watershed. The program is growing fast, as more folks request for their creeks to be tested for the 2026 season.
