Why I’m Fundraising for Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania

I’m proud to support Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) because it creates a safe, inspiring space where girls can lead, grow, and discover their full potential. When girls are given opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and explore their interests, they become the changemakers of tomorrow.

By supporting GSHPA through Give Local York, you are helping prepare the next generation of leaders. Your donation strengthens programs that build girls of courage, confidence, and character—girls who will go on to make a meaningful impact in their schools, workplaces, and communities.

Your generosity directly supports Girl Scout programming that encourages growth through STEM education, outdoor experiences, entrepreneurship, and essential life skills. In addition, your support helps sustain Academic Edge, GSHPA’s in‑school program serving students in grades K–7. Academic Edge introduces Girl Scouts during the school day, removing traditional barriers to participation. The program offers free, hands‑on learning experiences aligned with Pennsylvania state academic standards and allows girls to explore leadership, teamwork, and problem‑solving in a supportive environment. By combining education with empowerment, Academic Edge ensures that more girls—regardless of background or circumstance—can benefit from Girl Scouts.
