For almost 23 years, I've had the privilege to work with a dedicated team of civic leaders and staff to advance SNHA's mission of storytelling, place-based education, and local partnerships that deepen people’s connection to our region. Rooted in deep expertise and a profound connection to this landscape and the river, we help residents and visitors navigate the rich, layered, nationally important stories that shape our home. We steward this legacy so what we’ve learned can impact generations to come. 

The dollars raised through Extragive help us host hundreds of local school children at the Zimmerman Center for Heritage each year, welcome thousands of kids and families aboard river discovery boat tours, guide folks from near and far to the cultural and natural wonders of our local landscape, and transform the historic Mifflin Farm into a world-class history center, river art museum, and heritage park where we can share all of our region’s amazing stories.

Our State and National Heritage Area covers all of Lancaster and York counties, with over 200 historic sites and outdoor recreation opportunities. These places renew, refresh, and inspire us. They connect us to our place in the larger stories of nature, history, and community. SNHA helps ensure these places remain available to future generations.

As we expand our regional impact through new programs, events, and places for learning, we increasingly rely on the generous support of people like you. Your donation helps us offer more school field trips, develop innovative educational programs, and enhance our advocacy for preserving and sharing the rich cultural and natural resources of Lancaster and York Counties and the Susquehanna River.
