For nearly 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping people experience the Susquehanna River — its landscapes, history, and stories. the countless stories that flow through it. Every day, a student on their first field trip, a family discovering a local trail, or a visitor stepping into a historic home that holds centuries of stories learns something new.

I believe these moments matter. They spark curiosity that grows into stewardship. They help people find their place in the community. They draw us together in a shared experience of life and a shared heritage.

There’s a quiet power in these moments. A visitor stands on land once walked by Native peoples. A cyclist passes the stone walls of an iron furnace and imagines the fire and cocophany of workers.. A family hears the story of freedom seekers and sees their own hopes reflected back. These experiences awaken a sense of belonging to place, to history, and to each other.
