Why do I support?
When I was a young mom with a premature baby, I was a WIC participant myself. During one of the most overwhelming seasons of my life, I was met with compassion and empathy that I had never experienced before. I wasn’t treated like a number or just another appointment—I was truly seen and supported. They patiently walked me through things I didn’t even know to ask about, like how to use my breast pump and which foods to avoid to keep my baby healthy. In moments when I felt scared and unsure, they showed up with kindness, knowledge, and understanding.
Now, working for CPC, I’ve learned that the impact goes far beyond WIC. This organization is about empowering families at every stage of life. From first-time homebuying resources to Head Start programs, from setting short-term goals to planning for long-term stability, CPC meets families where they are and walks beside them toward where they want to be. Every service is grounded in compassion and the belief that life can be challenging for anyone, regardless of background or circumstance.
I support because I’ve seen how one organization, rooted in care and dignity, can change the trajectory of a family’s life. And now, I’m proud to be part of that mission—helping others find the same hope, guidance, and strength that once helped me. Show you're support. A little goes a long way!
Every dollar raised during Give Local York supports Community Progress Council's comprehensive, integrated services, providing the necessary resources for long-term support as families navigate challenges and work toward a brighter future. From Head Start and WIC supporting young families to Housing Education and coaching empowering people toward goals in education, employment, and income, CPC makes an impact!
