YMCA of the Roses - A Mission for All!

Like so many I grew up going to the YMCA. My home branch was the Bob Hoffman YMCA in Dover where I enjoyed their child care program, summer camp, and bus rides for swim lessons. 

As an adult I was reintroduced to the Y and its mission to serve all people from all walks of life. I sat on the marketing committee and dove into other opportunities including helping with individual events when I could. Now I am 2nd Vice Chair and immensely humbled by the staff, volunteers, and donors who dedicate their lives and resources in bringing the YMCA of the Roses to our communities.

Through my volunteerism I have gotten to know so many with stories connected to the Y and how the organization's programs have helped them. Whether it is the LIVESTRONG program giving cancer survivors their strength back, our membership for all to help decrease barriers to physical health, youth development programs giving kids and teens healthy, creative outlets to grow, or our housing initiatives which brings safety and community center stage for hundreds of individuals in York and Lancaster counties. 

This is an organization in our community directly changing lives for the better. This is an organization you can trust with your donation to make lives better. We've been here for over 175 years and we aren't going anywhere - we're here to stay! But, to do that we need you to continue believing in our mission: It is the mission of the YMCA of the Roses to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The organization exists to develop and practice the principles of faith, hope, loves, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
