The York County SPCA is more than a shelter — we’re a lifeline for thousands of pets and those who love them.
Every day, animals arrive at our doors needing safety, healing, and hope. And every day, we show up for them — because of you.
We rescue and rehome stray and displaced animals, investigate animal cruelty, advocate for those without a voice, provide critical veterinary care, and promote responsible pet ownership to create a safer, healthier community for all.
But here’s the truth: More than 70% of our funding comes from individuals like you. We do not receive support from the national ASPCA — every dollar stays here in York County.
This Give Local York, your gift powers life-saving work for the most vulnerable animals in our community. With the rising number of homeless, injured, and at-risk pets entering our care, your support is more critical than ever.

🐾Celebrate with us at the York County SPCA during Give Local York! 🐾
Join us for our Give Day Open House PAW-ty on May 1 from 5–8 PM right here at the shelter! This family-friendly event is our way of bringing the community together to celebrate Give Local York and the impact we can make for animals—together.
Here’s what you can expect at the PAW-ty:
🍔 Food Vendors: G’s Concessions, Tri County BBQ, and Kona Ice
🛍️ Local Vendors: Michele the Painter, Christy’s Cat Care, Loki’s Toybox, Bites of Love, Maison’s Photography, Designs by Reena, and Baldwins Gallery
🎨 Activities & Experiences:
• Face painting
• Small animal petting zoo
• Adopt-a-plushie station
• Kid-friendly activities for all ages
🐶 Special Guests:
Meet some of our adoptable dogs stopping by to say hello and steal your heart
🎉 Give Local York Fun:
We’ll be watching the live donation countdown, celebrating milestones, and sharing how your support is changing the lives of animals in our community in real time

Just follow these simple steps and feel great about the positive difference you are making in the lives of the animals who need our love and support more than ever.1. 2. Ask your family and friends to donate to your campaign on May 1 and 2. Here's a quick tip: Ask 10 people to donate $10, and you will have raised $100 for the animals. It's that easy!
